there are now sixty four co-operative societies which deal with the supply of goods and services to outlying areas. Pakistan is doing a splendid job in the whole of this once neglected country, and finds her reward in the sincere attachment of its inhabitants”.

It may, however, be mentioned that the observation of Professor Rush Brook William that the toll of the aircraft was high, is not based on facts. In the twenty years of the flying between Rawalpindi and Skardu, there was only one forced landing by AP AAF (DC 3), commanded by Captain I.S. Malik, in the river bed of Indus, immediately after take off from Skardu Airport, on 14^th October, 1954. Captain I.S. Malik is employed in the Sui-gas these days. The only fatal accident took place on 8^th October, 1965, when F.27 APATT crashed near Saiful-Malook. No passengers were on board. All the four crews lost their lives. The Pakistan International Airlines on the route is marvelous and beyond praise.
